My Experience with Comprehensive Health Screening Sedated Gastroscopy (Endoscopy) Post-Procedure Clinical Consultation

Patient Story

Hallelujah for K-Medical. Because I know that if you are just visiting without any relatives, things can be quite confusing. I'll try my best to explain things as much as possible for people who wants advise. I got my ticket at 6:55 AM and was already 13th in line—so many early birds. From 7:00 AM, the numbers moved quickly, but be aware that they don’t call them out. You need to monitor the screen carefully to avoid missing your turn. When called, they’ll ask for your reservation number and ID (passport, etc.) and confirm the package you’ve chosen. This is when I realised that my package included far more tests than I expected—an amazing deal for the price. 1. Preparing for Your Visit Plan ahead for a smooth experience, especially as this is a major centre for both locals and foreigners. Visit their website in advance after obtaining a temporary phone number via eSIM—they send important information leading up to your appointment. I booked my appointment after arriving in Seoul and only had to wait just over a week. Also you must complete the online-questionnaire in advance prior to the visit on the day. I chose the Standard package for a gastroscopy under sedation (estimated cost: 500,000 KRW as a foreigner). Note: The website didn’t specify all included tests, but I was pleasantly surprised to receive 8–9 additional tests at no extra cost. Unless you they find something while proceeding gastroscopy under sedation, which they'll explain about the extra costs. 2. Location & Arrival Stay as close as possible to the center for convenience. I visited KMI Gangnam (Seolleung, 2-min walk from Seolleung Station Exit 10). My Airbnb was nearby (Exit 4), and I booked a morning appointment (7:00–9:00 am). No specific time slots—appointments are assigned within a general window. Arrived at the building at 6:50 am (Exit 10, the KMI sign is visible ahead). Security will ask your destination; my text message said "ALL Level", but if unspecified, go to Level 10. 3. Check-in Process After exiting the elevator, you’ll see a kiosk. If you have a reservation, enter your phone number or reservation number. If it says “Reservation cannot be found”,but don’t panic and select “Visiting without reservation” from the main page instead. This step only generates a ticket number (like Service NSW in Australia) so you can check in at the front desk. 4. Testing & Gastroscopy Process Check-in & Initial Tests: I got my ticket at 6:55 am—there were already 12 people ahead of me. The queue moves quickly from 7:00 am (watch the screen for your number). They verify your reservation, ID (passport), and confirm your package. After changing, go to the help kiosk (near the changing rooms) to start. You scan your locker card at each test room to enter the queue. Completed 9 tests on Level 10 in 1.5 hours. Then they may ask you to go to different levels for other tests. I went to level 7 for the Gastroscopy: Got a new ticket from the kiosk (reservation number not needed). 8:33 am—30 people ahead of me, but the wait was only 25-27 minutes. Registered, drank the prep syrup, and was called in 10 minutes later. Was put to sleep quickly, and the procedure took 10-15 minutes. (Felt like I was in a train station in my dream). Escorted out and sent to the doctor’s office on different level 8 immediately for a consultation. My gastroscopy & scan results were already available within minutes while I was walking up a level. Thanks to K- efficiency. Discussed key results with the doctor, while remaining reports are emailed later. Final Steps: Returned my locker key, and they will send you a Breakfast code via sms. What, why but thank you so much. Walked out from the building by 9 34am, headed to the relevant restaurant. I really hope that you experience the procedure as well as I did, because the experience in overseas can overwhelming sometimes. Let me know if you have any question. https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChZDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnTUNndHZTR2R3EAE!2m1!1s0x0:0x19c382f80f47c979!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgMCgtvSGdw%7C%7C?hl=en-GB&source=sh/x/kp/local/m1/0&kgs=3bc048c2bd769cf0&utm_source=sh/x/kp/local/m1/0
